Stoke’s Guide To A Great (Safe) Time In Barcelona This Summer
The new normal isn’t so bad
We have a bit of a different summer on our hands here in Barcelona this year, but don’t let that deter you from visiting our beautiful city! Why visit Barcelona this summer you may ask? Well the normally bustling city is actually on the quieter side. That means you are more likely to grab that seat at the outdoor terrace, catch the perfect tourist free image of the Sagrada Familia and other normally tourist heavy hotspots, not waiting for the table at your favourite brunch spot, or even snag that perfect spot on the beach!
Everything remains open as normal with some social distancing measures in place, some safety requirements around town, and of course everyones wearing masks and taking part in the non official coolest mask contest (grab yours at www.stokethreads.com). Besides that it’s business as normal and the perfect time to get over here! If you’re after some fun activities to enjoy in the Spanish sunshine when here on vacay, check out the list below of our favorite pastimes that can all be enjoyed while social distancing with your pals!

Here’s what’s coming up
Costa Brava Kayak and Snorkel day trip (72€ pp)
The Costa Brava is famous for its translucent water, pristine beaches and amazing coves! It is however notoriously tricky to get to via public transport and can be a bit of a mission to get to if you don’t have an understanding of the area. This day trip takes all the fuss and hassle out of organising a fabulous day in the sunshine! It leaves Barcelona from a central location just before 12pm on a private coach and includes a guided kayak and snorkeling tour, a bite for lunch, a cool refreshment and your return transport to Barcelona for around 6pm. Private Sailboat Charter (from 38€ pp)
In our opinion, this is one of the best group activities on offer in Barcelona. These private sailboat charters run for anywhere between 2-4 hours and include all your drinks (cava, wine, beers and soft drinks) along with some light snacks and a private skipper for the duration. They are perfectly suited for groups between 5-11 people and are the BEST way to take in the Barcelona coastline all from the safety of your own private boat. Personalised Picnic in the Park (from 45€ pp)
This is a perfect one for hen do’s, birthdays, weddings, baby showers or just because you feel like being pampered! These stunning private picnics will be tailored to your needs and you won’t have to lift a finger. The picnic locations include idyllic spots in Barcelona parks and beaches, but can also be taken to a location of your choosing. The picnic includes personalised decoration, gorgeous grazing boards, fruits, cakes, and drinks of your choice! €35 euros per person for 8 to 25 guests, prices vary for smaller groups. Private Spanish Cooking Class (from 45€ pp)
Perfect for any foodies, these classes take place at a private kitchen and dining space in the beachside barrio of Poble Nou and include free flowing Spanish wine, a local charcuterie tasting board, classic Spanish entrees and a delicious seafood paella. This activity is perfect for groups from 4-10 people and is hosted in the chef’s native language of English. Each class can be catered to dietary requirements and needs. Private Cocktail making class (40€ pp)
These classes take place at a beautiful bar located in the Born barrio and are best suited to groups between 4-10 people. Here you will learn the history of a selection of different cocktails all while being shown how to make them yourselves and then tasting them (of course!). Premium spirits are used, the staff on hand are fabulously friendly and great times are 100% guaranteed. Book Barcelona Spring Semester Activities
This is undoubtedly one of the best things you will do here in Barcelona. Our stunning catamaran of nautical naughtiness is no everyday cruise, it offers live DJ and dance floor, awesome views, and the captain of chaos making sure her team of sexy sailors are floating everyone’s boats with games and other shenanigans. You’re sure to have some tall tales from this party, but remember, what happens on the sea stays at sea (unless of course it makes it to your Facebook page).
Want something a little more intimate. Our private sailings are jut the ticket. Enjoy 2 hours at sea with your private boat and skipper, snacks and drinks (beer, wine and cava) included.
Increased hygiene levels are in place post Covid-19, with the boat disinfected before every sailing, hand sanitizer on board, all guests are advised to bring a mask to check in following recent Spanish regulations.
