The weather is better in Barcelona

The number one reason has to be the weather. Summers are hot, but you’ve got the beaches to pass out on and the Mediterranean Sea to cool off in. Winters are mild enough for you to be out in the day, sitting on a terrace drinking beer in your t-shirt. Spring and Autumn you can do it all. Why go somewhere just as cold and miserable as home for your stag do, when you can just hop on down to Spain?

Barcelona is close to home

With dozens of budget airline flights every day to the UK, and the rest of Europe, you can have breakfast at home and be in Barcelona for a paella lunch and your flight will cost you the price of a pint and a full English. The best place to kick it off is in one of the many bars that double as tapas restaurants, where you can drink sangria and line the gut with all the Spanish favourites. From there wander around the Gothic area, or El Born, and find a cocktail bar, or Irish pub, that tickles your fancy. Once you feel like the world needs to see your dancing there are clubs all over the city that cater to all music tastes and levels of smashedness. These affairs generally don’t end until 6am, so make sure you come with your stamina.

Plus, Barcelona is awesome for sightseeing

We know, we know, you probably didn’t plan on doing much more than eat, drink and lay about, but it would be a shame to come to Barcelona for a stag do and not see some of the city’s famous sights… like the art of Pablo Picasso, the architecture of Antoni Gaudi, the markets found all over the city every weekend (that mercifully serve beer, wine and vermouth), and the city’s many shopping districts that will artfully get you out of the dog house upon your return.
