This trip includes dorm-style accommodation at Stoke’s Surf House, three hearty meals per day, 2 hours of surf instruction, surf equipment hire, pintxo tours, local activities and party nights!
The land of pintxos and sidra, with it’s rolling hills, beautiful beaches and inclement weather, is an idyllic location for Semana Grande San Sebastián 2019, hosted by friendly locals who know how to throw a party. We’ll drink, we’ll dance, we’ll watch fireworks displays, we’ll kiss strangers under the stars and we’ll celebrate being alive at the ‘Big Week’ of the Basque.
Semana Grande Festival & San Sebastián Surf Camp
San Sebastián is every surfers paradise, and our surf camp is created for the best of both worlds, let our in-house chef tantalise your taste buds, and our awesome team chill your beers, so all that’s left to do is cheers. Your party nights are pre-organised and your beds ready for a post-party crash, plus all the new friends you’ll make here will be just wonderful! Each year brings an open-minded group of folk from all over the world, so it’s a chance to learn each other’s lingo and share stories over a beer or seventeen. Every surf level is welcome, from beginners to the most accomplished surf dudes and dudettes. For beginners or those looking to improve, our fun and friendly surf instructors will be holding surf lessons daily, which are included. Where else in the world are your primary concerns trying not to get too much sun and the temperature of the beer? Where else can you spend your nights in the trendy nightclubs of San Sebastián, but wake up in nature surrounded by verdant hills, rustling leaves and twittering birds? Book here for a week of Basque bliss.

San Sebastian, our slice of paradise…
This is a guide itinerary with everything in the all inclusive package. The beauty of staying at the Surf camp is that you can do whatever you like, whenever you like, your way.
Wake up to a delicious cooked breakfast whether it be pancakes, bacon and eggs or a ham & cheese omelette. Head to the beach to wash away the headaches (and mistakes) of the night before. A couple of hours of surfing, (with instructors of course) relaxing, soaking up the sun and playing beach games.
Once we’ve built up enough of an appetite, it’s back to the closest camp to fill up on a tasty lunch prepared by our in-house chef and maybe, just maybe, brave that first icy cold beer of the day.
There are tonnes of different activities in the surrounding region to keep everyone occupied. We can head into San Sebastian to its famous pintxos bars, go on free walking tours, go horse riding, paragliding, on wine tasting tours or simply head to the beach for more surfing, or enjoy the sunshine from our terrace in all its glory.
Finish your afternoon activities with a cider on the hill, watching the sunset and then enjoy a big hearty dinner to line the stomach.
Day time activities:

Day 1 - Morning
Head to your pre-arranged pick up at San Pelaio Train/Bus Station in Zarautz at 9 am, 1 pm or 7 pm. And jump on our surf bus straight to the beach, or up to the surf house to check in.
Day 1 - Afternoon
We’ll either have a simple to-go style lunch in the sunshine down at the beach, or back up to the surf casa for a hot lunch and a cold sangria. If you’re feeling bendy join a yoga class on our yoga deck; maybe you want to head out hiking through the Basque hills that our surf house backs onto; you can choose to go into town and explore, join in on a Spanish Class, head back down to the beach for another surf, or just relax! In the afternoon you will most likely find yourself hanging out at the house watching the sun go down over a few drinks and sharing stories or becoming lord of the ping pong table.
Day 1 - Evening
We’ll head into San Sebastian’s Semana Grande festival for some more drinks, music and exploring. There’s live music, incredible firework displays, and the street’s packed with dancing locals and tourists alike enjoying the festivities.
Day 2 - Morning
Wake up to a homely, cooked breakfast down in our chillout area and exchange stories from last night’s antics, read the surf report and get excited to head out surfing. Jump on our surf bus and enjoy the ride down through the national park to the beach, grab your board and either scout out the best banks on the beach or head into your lesson with one of our surf instructors.
Day 2 onwards - Eat. Sleep. Surf. Rave. Repeat

I absolutely loved exploring different surf beaches every day. Wilson was an excellent guide who really enjoyed showing us around. We got proper waves so this was also suitable for advanced surfers. Meals at the house were delicious. Accommodation was a huge room called “Dormland” with a lot of beds – if you know what you are getting yourself into it’s fine. For more comfort you can book one of the smaller rooms. Upon arrival we arrived 1 day too early by mistake and our hosts kindly picked us up in the middle of the night and offered us spontaneous pre-accommodation! The surf house is on a hill and everyone always does everything together so there’s a good vibe and definitely do the eventful night excursions too. San Sebastian is a crazy city with my best night out! I would recommend this tour to young laid back travellers.semana grande semanagrande san sebastian sansebastian donostia surfing
