How To Decide Which European Festivals To Go To
Deciding which European festivals to attend is a conundrum that has plagued party philosophers since the heady heydays of Greek orgies. We are the only one of ourselves, with…
Everything Else

Stoke Travel’s accommodation at Bilbao BBK Live is camping, and we’ll provide you with all the gear you need to get setup and comfortable, including twin-share tent, mattresses and sleeping bags. You can meet Stoke at Bilbao BBK Live, or combine it with our beach camp or San Fermines, and take advantage of our transfers from Zarautz and Pamplona.
This is the perfect festival to throw into your Europe trip, not so big that it’ll cost you the world, but big enough for you to see world-class acts. Plus, it happens in Bilbao, the underrated industrial city of the Basque Country, a port surrounded by the regions rolling green hills, filled with great food, pintxos bars and plenty of beaches.
The best way to experience Bilbao BBK Live, and this part of northern Spain. First up you’ll be joining us in Pamplona on the July 9, for the world famous San Fermines fiesta, with its wild street parties. Once you’ve had your fill of Pamplona’s parties we’ll throw you on the Stoke buses on July 11 and whisk you through the Basque mountains to Bilbao ready for the festival to begin.
At Bilbao BBK Live we’ll provide you with your tent, mattresses and sleeping bags and let you rage for three full days of international and local acts, and general music festival madness. When we’re done it’s time to load the buses again and we’ll rip from Bilbao up the coast to our Zarautz Beachside Surf Camp, a little slice of paradise on the hill, overlooking the best surf beach in the area. From here your mission will be to surf, soak up some sun, eat all the delicious food you can find and generally chill out for three days, until of course the time comes to party again (probably the first night that you’re there). From Zarautz you can stay at the Surf Camp for as long as you please, and then make your way onto the rest of your travels. Maybe Ibiza is calling?
This is by far the best way to take in all the best parts of the Basque Country, the most interesting, exciting and picturesque part of northern Spain.
This is the package for those of you who have already been to Zarautz, don’t want to visit, or don’t have time. With this package you meet us in Pamplona for San Fermines on July 8, and then let us take you to Bilbao BBK Live on the 11th, provide you with all your camping gear, rage with you for three days of music fest looseness, and then we’ll take you to Pamplona or Zarautz, or go your own way from Bilbao, which is a transport hub. With this tour you’ll take in the two biggest parties that the region has to offer.
If you’re not interested in San Fermines, or have plans that aren’t with us (shame!) this is the package for you. Either meet us at Bilbao BBK Live, or ride with us on the Stoke buses from Pamplona and get set up with our camping gear at Bilbao BBK Live for the three huge days of the festival. We’ll then cruise back along the coastline for three days at the Zarautz Beachside Surf Camp, or more if you want, where we’ll lick our wounds and probably lick the tequila-shot salt too. From the Surf Camp you can make your own way to your next adventure.
Holders may book Bilbao BBK Live with nights from their Stoke Travel Passport. Unsure what the Stoke Travel Passport is? Check it out here! Your universe will change.

Enjoy life atop our cliff-side campsite looking over the stunning local beach break. No worries if it’s your first time, our instructors will get you on a wave with daily surf lessons and everything included, we wont blame you if you decide to stay a little longer. Recuperate and relax all afternoon, exploring the gorgeous town of San Sebastian before having a delicious dinner at camp.
Following a hearty chef-prepared breakfast, check out of the Zarautz campsite and wave goodbye to good friends and even better memories.
Pais Vasco, Pays Basque, the Basque Country. The elbow of the French and Spanish Atlantic coastline is an area filled with culture and natural beauty. Home to Europe’s oldest language, it’s most sturdy people, and some of the most incredible vistas your eyes have ever had the pleasure of taking in.
Bilbao is the capital of the Basque Country and has loads of cool, artsy, cultural places like the Guggenheim Museum. The BBK Live is held on Kobetamendi which means Mount Cobeta and is the city’s largest park.
We stay 20 minutes outside of San Sebastian at a beautiful cliff top campsite overlooking the surf beach of Zarautz.
As far as surf goes, well we’re only a hop skip and a jump away from the finest surf beaches in Europe. And if National Geographic says we’re located in one of the World’s Top 20 Surf Towns, well who are we to dispute it!

BBK was so much fun, our camp site was awesome and the group of people we were with made it so easy to make new friends. The crew at stoke made everyone feel comfortable and being a smaller group meant we all stuck together and no one was left out or left behind. It was amazing to not have to worry about tents, to rock up and have everything sorted for us made it stress free and enjoyable. Will absolutely be heading along again next year!
Bilbao BBK Live with Stoke was awesome. I came with a couple friends, but it was cool to meet a bunch of new people form all over and hang out at the festival with them. Stoke brought all of our tents, mattresses, sleeping bags etc. and sorted my ticket out for me, all I had to do was show up and rock on! Four out of five stars on transportation because the bus was a little late picking us up after the festival, but apparently it just got stuck in traffic. Overall a killer way to do a music festival!
